About Catherine IrvineOriginally from Canada, Catherine graduated from Queen’s University’s Concurrent Education programme with a BA (Hons) in English Literature and a BEd. In addition, she obtained her Honours Specialist in English from the University of Ottawa, her Career and Guidance Counsellor Specialist from Queen’s University and her MSc in Educational Management through Bristol University in the UK. Catherine has worked in education for 19 years in Canada, Belgium and here in Hong Kong. She has experience with the OSSD as an English and Economics teacher, and as a Department Head. Her IBDP experience includes teaching English Literature and fulfilling duties as a Head of Year and as a Careers and Guidance Counsellor. Catherine joined CDNIS six years ago as a Guidance Counsellor and is now in her fourth year as Head of the Upper School Guidance Department. She also has two children who attend CDNIS in the Lower School.
